The WISH project is taking another step towards transforming breast cancer follow-up through the development of its digital platform, designed to support more personalised, coordinated and accessible care for women receiving adjuvant hormonal treatment.

Building on the initial design of the study protocol and patient questionnaires, the project partners are working to translate the WISH follow-up model into a digital solution that connects patients, general practitioners and oncologists.

A digital platform designed around patients’ needs

Women receiving adjuvant hormonal treatment often require long-term follow-up, symptom monitoring and support in managing treatment-related challenges while maintaining their quality of life.

The WISH digital platform is being designed to facilitate this process by bringing together clinical information, patient-reported outcomes and personalised lifestyle support within a coordinated follow-up model.

Through the platform, patients will be able to report symptoms, provide information about their quality of life and participate in monitoring their health and wellbeing. The platform is also intended to support personalised lifestyle interventions and facilitate the exchange of relevant information between patients and healthcare professionals.

Turning patient experiences into meaningful information

An important part of the platform’s development involves the integration of the questionnaires designed within the WISH project.

These questionnaires will help collect information about treatment experiences, symptoms, lifestyle habits, quality of life and everyday circumstances.

The platform is also expected to incorporate contextual information about the environments in which women live, including access to healthcare services, opportunities for physical activity and everyday support. This additional information is intended to help the WISH model consider not only patients’ clinical needs but also the circumstances that may influence their ability to follow recommendations and manage daily life.

By combining these different types of information, WISH seeks to establish a more comprehensive understanding of each patient’s needs throughout follow-up.

Through this work, WISH is moving from the co-creation of ideas to the development of practical digital tools that will support the next stages of the project.
