The WISH project is moving forward with the initial design of its study protocol and patient questionnaires, marking an important step towards the implementation of a new digitally supported follow-up model for women with early breast cancer receiving adjuvant hormonal treatment.

Building on the insights gathered through co-creation activities, interviews and discussions with patients, healthcare professionals and stakeholders, the project partners are translating identified needs and priorities into a structured approach to personalised follow-up care.

Designing a patient-centred follow-up model

The development of the study protocol focuses on defining how the WISH follow-up model will operate, including the roles of patients, general practitioners and oncologists, the organisation of follow-up activities and the information needed to support coordinated care.

In parallel, the consortium is developing patient questionnaires based on a literature review to capture different aspects of women’s experiences during hormonal treatment. These include treatment-related symptoms, quality of life, lifestyle habits and other factors that may influence health and wellbeing, such as physical activity, home conditions related to rest and comfort, environmental factors and social support.

The questionnaires are intended to collect information at different stages of the study, allowing the WISH team to consider patients’ initial circumstances, their experiences during follow-up and changes over time.

Preparing for digital integration

The protocol and questionnaires will provide an important foundation for the next phase of WISH: their integration into the project’s digital platform.
